Position Overview: Tool Design Engineer
As a Tool Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and coordinating the construction of production tools, especially foaming molds called Cellasto molds. You will work closely with various departments like S&E (Safety & Environment), Production, Procurement, and Quality, along with external vendors, managing projects from idea to manufacturing and further stages.
Your goal is to enable smooth production with minimum reject levels by designing effective tools aligned with global standards.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Design Cellasto foaming molds following global design guidelines.
- Support the introduction of new products to production phases with minimal rejects.
- Coordinate the construction and modification of tools, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met worldwide.
- Participate in Design review meetings and Reject Rate meetings to provide technical insights that optimize designs focused on product functionality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support operations to troubleshoot existing tools, suggesting improvements to reduce reject rates aligned with global guidelines and coordination with S&E and Quality teams.
- Manage project workflows and maintain detailed design documentation to ensure smooth project execution.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering combined with relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in tool or product design, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Knowledge and experience with manufacturing operations such as molding processes (cast, injection, or blow molding) are essential.
- Strong CAD skills, particularly with CREO Parametric or SolidWorks software, are required.
- Good understanding of construction processes, process verification, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles are necessary for success.
