About the Project Nomupay
We are looking for a full-stack developer to lead the development of a specialized web application that aggregates and presents public information on individuals such as executives and industry leaders. The goal is to build a centralized tool that gathers data from various online sources including news websites, social media platforms, and digital media to provide users with an up-to-date profile of a person’s public presence.
This includes developing both the data acquisition layer and a user-friendly front end that presents information in a structured and searchable format.
Project Overview
The application will be designed to allow users to search a person’s name and receive a complete, real-time overview of public content related to them. The system will involve scraping, API integration, storage management, and a responsive front-end interface.
Key Responsibilities
Develop the data acquisition layer to scrape and collect information from online sources such as Bloomberg, Reuters, BBC, Financial Times, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and other digital platforms.
Integrate with official APIs when available and use third-party services such as Apify, Oxylabs, or SerpApi when needed. Direct scraping of premium sources should be avoided unless handled through authorized services.
Design a data storage and indexing solution that enables fast search, caching, and retrieval of data for real-time presentation.
Build a simple web interface that allows users to input a name, view aggregated information, sort content by date, and access original sources via clickable links.
- Ensure that the system can support up to 200 concurrent users during the initial rollout.
- Create a monitoring layer that tracks usage of APIs and scraping tools to help manage costs and support scalability.
- Provide detailed documentation of the system including API usage, data flows, and deployment instructions.
- Evaluate stream processing options for near real-time updates.
- Ensure the application is legally compliant, scalable, and efficient.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience with web scraping tools and frameworks
- Proficiency in using and integrating third-party APIs
- Strong programming skills in Python, Node.js, or similar languages
- Experience in front-end development using React, Vue, or similar frameworks
- Solid understanding of database systems and data modeling
- Familiarity with caching and indexing techniques
- Ability to design systems that prioritize scalability and performance
- Understanding of ethical and legal aspects of data scraping
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with international or startup clients is a plus
