Manager – CNC Roll Grinding Expert : CRD Rolling Mills is looking for an experienced CNC Roll Grinding Expert to take charge of roll grinding operations in its Cold Rolling Division. This is a Manager-level opportunity for professionals with strong technical expertise in CNC roll grinding, precision finishing, and machine Optimization.
Candidates with expertise in CNC programming, grinding parameter Optimization, and roll profile accuracy will be preferred.
Manager Role CNC Roll Grinding Expert – Key Responsibilities
As a CNC Roll Grinding Expert at CRD Rolling Mills, the selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating CNC Roll Grinding Machines: Set up, program, and operate CNC roll grinding machines to achieve precise surface finishes and maintain tight dimensional tolerances on cylindrical rolls.
- Program Optimisation: Develop, modify, and optimise CNC programmes for grinding processes by adjusting parameters such as wheel speed, feed rate, and grinding depth.
- Roll Profile Accuracy: Execute accurate grinding for complex roll profiles including crown, convexity, taper, and shape as per specified design requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Perform precision checks using tools like micrometers, Ra testers, gauges, and calipers to confirm roughness value (Ra, Rz) and dimensional correctness.
- Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Identify errors such as chatter, wheel marking, roll misalignment, and wheel wear. Take corrective steps with a focus on minimal downtime.
- Preventive Maintenance: Carry out preventive and routine servicing of CNC roll grinding machines to improve uptime, reduce machine failures, and ensure consistent output.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain logs of machine settings, test results, grinding parameters, and inspection data to support ISO requirements and continuous improvement.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to meet roll shop production targets and guarantee precision in cold rolling operations.
