Job Description
Position Summary
Johnson & Johnson MedTech is looking for a Senior Engineer in Data Engineering for its Digital Surgery Platform team in Bangalore. The selected individual will be instrumental in advancing the cloud data platform, supporting the company’s transition into a digital-first, MedTech powerhouse.
This position is pivotal to the ongoing development of a robust, modern cloud platform that underpins the digital transformation of surgical procedures and connected healthcare. The role requires both deep technical proficiency and strong interpersonal skills to interact with multifunctional teams across data engineering, security, product management, and core infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with platform data engineering, core platform, security, and technical quality teams to design, implement, and deploy innovative data engineering solutions to support DSP needs.
- Develop robust data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and consumption, utilizing advanced Spark-based technologies including Databricks and Delta Live Table (DLT).
- Integrate all data engineering solutions with Azure data governance tools such as Purview and Unity Catalog, ensuring compliance with security best practices.
- Implement and support monitoring solutions for security and analytics within the Azure Databricks environment.
- Configure and deploy Databricks Analytical Workspaces in Azure using IaC tools such as Terraform and Databricks API, collaborating with J&J DevOps teams and operating within the JPM/Xena framework.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated CICD pipelines for cloud-based data processing.
- Serve as an SME in data engineering, providing subject matter expertise on the distributed DSP data architecture.
- Manage development and execution of automated test scripts aligned with the DSP quality framework.
- Foster partnerships with architecture teams, core infrastructure, and additional domains to ensure seamless deployment of innovative data solutions.
- Work directly with DSP Product Managers to interpret business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and prototype data processing applications based on stakeholder use cases.
- Contribute to the DSP technical roadmap using SAFe Agile DevOps principles and methodologies.
