Position Summary
Tata Motors is inviting applications for the role of PAT Engineer – Accommodation & Usage (Ergonomics) in Pune. This role is an integral part of the Engineering Business Unit, specifically within the TMPV (Truck, Multi-Purpose Vehicle) engineering sub-function. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that vehicle ergonomic and accommodation aspects meet stringent customer expectations and regulatory benchmarks.
Role Objective
The core objective of this role is to evaluate ergonomic parameters, vehicle accommodation, and stowage requirements both digitally and physically to ensure that design concepts, prototypes, and production vehicles adhere to benchmark standards. This position supports alignment and process consistency concerning all Performance Attribute Targets (PAT) within Tata Motors’ vehicle development cycle. Innovation and methodical assessment aimed at occupant comfort and packaging will be key deliverables of this role.

Role Responsibilities
- Perform digital assessments of vehicle ergonomics, occupant comfort, and accommodation using advanced simulation tools like CATIA and RAMSIS.
- Conduct physical evaluations of vehicle prototypes and production models to validate digital findings.
- Compare vehicle parameters against benchmarking standards set by Tata Motors as well as regulatory norms (SAE J1100, ECE, AIS).
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, quality, and product management to ensure alignment of ergonomic objectives.
- Provide feedback and innovative engineering inputs for vehicle concept development and detailed design stages.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all PAT-related ergonomic evaluations and ensure process adherence.
- Support testing and validation activities related to occupant comfort and packaging within vehicle programmes.
- Ensure all evaluations support the delivery of superior occupant comfort, safety, and regulatory compliance.
