Position Summary

The role of Senior Manager – Breakdown & Electronics Maintenance is crucial to the smooth functioning of Tata Motors’ manufacturing facilities in Lucknow. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the highest uptime of electronic machines and equipment, thus minimising production losses and optimising resource utilisation.

Additionally, the position requires the individual to drive improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, improving workplace safety, reducing operational costs, and maintaining exceptional quality standards. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager will be entrusted with managing all aspects of breakdown and electronics-related maintenance across multiple factory areas. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance
    • Oversee maintenance of VMC (Vertical Machining Centres), HMC (Horizontal Machining Centres), SPM (Special Purpose Machines), and general-purpose shop-floor equipment.
    • Ensure quick resolution of breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain uninterrupted production schedules.
  2. Assembly and Testing Equipment
    • Manage maintenance of aggregate assembly systems and testing rigs, ensuring precision and reliability in production and validation processes.
  3. Body, Chassis and Plant Equipment
    • Maintain electronic systems for BIW (Body-in-White), Chassis assembly, Press shop, and Paint shop equipment.
    • Liaise with cross-functional teams to proactively address potential electronic failures.
  4. Component-Level Repair and Troubleshooting
    • Provide expertise in component-level fault diagnosis and repair to reduce replacement costs.
    • Manage spare parts inventory effectively with a focus on critical electronic components.
  5. Systems Knowledge
    • Implement effective maintenance management systems, ensuring data-driven monitoring and reporting.
    • Introduce new methodologies for reliability-centred maintenance based on historical failure analysis.
  6. Quality and Safety
    • Strictly adhere to Tata Motors’ robust quality and safety standards.
    • Conduct regular audits, implement corrective actions, and lead awareness programmes for maintenance teams.

Educational Qualifications

  • Essential Qualification: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • Alternative Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical / Electronics

Applicants with higher technical qualifications and certifications in Industrial Automation, Robotics, or Maintenance Systems will be given added preference.

Experience Requirements

  • Total Experience: Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in electronic systems maintenance within manufacturing or automotive industry environments.
  • Domain Expertise: Hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting complex industrial systems, including PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), CNC (Computer Numerical Control) systems, networking technologies, and PC or microcontroller-based electronic circuits.
  • Strong exposure to automotive manufacturing lines, preferably with knowledge of high-volume commercial vehicle production facilities, will be highly advantageous.
