Role Overview – Senior Manager, TCF Production
The position of Senior Manager – TCF Production is a critical leadership role within Tata Motors’ manufacturing operations at Pune. TCF (Trim, Chassis, Final) Production forms the last and most crucial stage of automobile manufacturing, focusing on assembling, fitting, and finalizing vehicles to the highest quality standards.
A Senior Manager in this function is expected to ensure seamless alignment between production goals, customer expectations, and operational efficiency. The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on leadership, and the ability to navigate complex manufacturing environments while maintaining high morale among large teams.
Key Responsibilities
The chosen candidate will be entrusted with a challenging yet rewarding set of responsibilities, including:
- Production Leadership: Oversee, plan and execute Trim, Chassis and Final production operations in line with daily, weekly, and monthly targets. Ensure that schedules are met while maintaining cost efficiency and quality compliance.
- Quality Management: Ensure that finished vehicles meet the organization’s stringent quality benchmarks and regulatory requirements. Drive initiatives aimed at reducing rework, improving first-time quality, and ensuring defect-free delivery.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate current production processes to identify areas for improvement. Implement lean and Kaizen practices to improve productivity while reducing wastage and downtime.
- Workforce Management: Provide direction and motivation to teams working across multiple shifts. Build a sense of accountability and teamwork among employees to achieve common goals.
- Safety and Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of workplace safety, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements. Encourage a safety-first culture across the shop floor.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Procurement, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Product Development to ensure smooth operations. Handle interactions with external partners and vendors where required.
- Strategic Execution: Align production plans with larger business objectives of Tata Motors. Convert plant strategies into measurable outcomes that positively impact financial and operational performance.
- Change Management: Lead and implement change initiatives related to technology upgrades, automation, and digital manufacturing. Foster a culture that adapts effectively and efficiently to new developments.
